"So I am a new graphic designer and I love what I'm doing, I had one problem and that is I needed a Raster to Vector converter as well as something to help me with my work. My solution was Photoshop of course, it has to be the best in the market for the best price."

"What I really want in a photoshop alternative is something lightweight, that resembles a stripped down earlier version of photoshop. What I got with Painter 2017 was a very art-heavy and sketch-heavy program that really still needs access to photoshop to be useful. I'd avoid this unless you're already happily using photoshop."

"This solution certainly seems compatible with Photoshop, however I'm not sure it serves as a full alternative to Photoshop. Its seems to be both a creation tool, as well as an editing tool."

"Not an alternative to Photoshop. This is just a drawing and sketching app."

"While I have used Photoshop before, it is expensive. As an art student, I was looking for something that would do what I needed but also be affordable. Gimp, is the perfect solution. It's free and has everything you need to create beautiful digital works."

"When I switched to linux, I switched to Gimp from years of Photoshop. No regrets. It took me a while to learn where everything is , but the functionality is as good as Pshop for my needs. And ....it's free!"

"Great app for a photoshop alternative for all apple users, especially on the iPad. Can change shape, paint, edit lighting or color and much more. A great go to for the unprofessional photographer."

"Don't have the experience (or maybe the cash) to try out Photoshop, but still want a great editing software for your pics? Krita is free and open source, and gives you almost the exact same features as Adobe's Photoshop. It's definitely worth checking out, and could help out any artist."

"I feel Photoshop for a casual user like myself is far too costly. I think Krita is feature-packed and convenient for a quick sketch-up to show to my friends as a hobby or to produce quick invitations for business events. I saw that Krita was fast and available on many platforms."

"If you're familiar with Photoshop and like it, I think Phixr would be a major let down. It's website is very limited and it looks like it's made for users who just want to easily edit a picture without having many options. This actually brings up a good point: If Photoshop's complexity and features either perplex you or just take too much time for your needs, Phixr might be the basic app that you'd like."
