I used Kaspersky when my computer was overrun with viruses after I accidentally clicked on a suspicious link in my email. The viruses were so bad that I could barely even boot my computer up. After I was eventually able to install Kaspersky, the program ran a long scan of my entire hard drive and located about 10 files that were attacking my computer. I was then able to clear my hard drive and get my computer running back to normal. Now Kaspersky protects my computer from myself. More

I have used AVG Antivirus for a few years now. I like this program because the basic version doesn't cost any money and it's easy to install and use. It lets me know if there is a threat to my computer and I can choose to isolate/delete the threat or not. More

Slow upstarts, slow browsing, slow to veiw pictures, slow to load movies. That's what this thing did to my computer. I thought the AV programs were meant to stop PC slow down, not cause it! This thing conflicted with almost every program i use on a daily basis, from certain browser functions to important needed extensions i use, and even a few games i play. 360 Total Security was a literal lifesaver for my entire family. Recently our home computer was hacked after my husband fell for a scammer. My husband was having trouble with a new computer. He thought that he was contacting Dell direct online since he accessed the Dell site (or so he thought). Anyway, after allowing this imposter to remotely access our computer, we realized that the Dell online site was not real. We were in a panic worrying about what information this imposter stole from us. But, THANK GOD we had 360 Total Security. 360 Total Security notified us about the hacking and saved our lives. Microsoft Security Essentials bills itself as one of the best protections against viruses. I can think of a few applications, Sophos and Norton among them, that provide better antivirus protection. But on the whole I think Microsoft Security Essentials is a pretty decent complement to those. More

Sophos is a great antivirus program. I had been using McAfee, and it was actually pretty useless and pretty expensive -- it would put alerts up if you went to its own website. Anyway, I definitely wanted to replace it when my contract ran out, so I was really happy to run across Sophos. I don't personally know a lot about these programs, but I was happy to see how highly rated it was by many PC sites and magazines. I feel very comfortable with the security of my computer now. It also has child restrictions, etc., if that interests you, and it runs on Mac and PC (I have a PC, and it's great). More

This product seems pretty interesting, the way it causes some viruses to self terminate. It really does seem like a tiny virus hitman!

There are better options out here people. I tried this and while easy to use, it misses out on some of the most basic protections you can have on a PC. Look elsewhere for your antivirus needs. More
