"This is where Maine got so popular! I'm a Filipino myself and only heard about Dubsmash when Maine got so popular! I also have musical.ly but I gave this app a try and I find this much better and simpler compared to Musically."

"For apps like Musical.ly, Dubsmash is a fun alternate to make lip sync videos. The new update, however, appears to really bring this one down, as one reviewer called the app "horrible" after its update. I don't think this is a great solution for me."

"Dubsmash is so much fun. It's really easy to create videos and share with others. My group of friends are always making videos and posting. They are awesome and funny all at the same time. I love Dubsmash."

"I just like how my sister and I can easily make lip-sync music videos with Funimate! Compared to Musical.ly, this has so many animations that I like and are good to play with when we're bored!!!"

"I don't really put this app into the same category as Musical.ly. This app you can make videos and add graphics and emoji's and then upload them to your social media page. It's fun and gives you something to do, but it doesn't have the community appeal like Musical.ly does. It's fun to use in my spare time when I am bored."

"I like musical.ly becoz I can create lipsync videos whenever I want to unwind, but I've been looking for other alternatives so I can rediscover which is actually better! So far I find this one much, much better because I can also edit videos here :)"

    DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that Musical.ly first started when Alex Zhu, founder of Musical.ly, saw a group of teens taking selfies and videos while the others were listening to music? He was on a train in Mountain View when he got the idea that could possibly attract the young demographic. By combining music, video and social network, he and his co-founder Yang were able to create an app called Musical.ly (pronounced as MU-zik-lee). Since Musical.ly has more than 40 million active users daily, this popularly known lip-sync app became so successful that several app developers have tried to create an app similar to this one. In addition, there are also other lip-syncing apps available for iOS users and Android users

Since technology and social network users are getting younger and younger, creating an app that targets tweens and teens such as Musical.ly could become famous. According to Gary Vaynerchuk on his article, one factor is that Musical.ly is an app that Moms won’t be interested in. Furthermore, lip-syncing is known to entertain and attract audience. One example is when famous Musical.ly personality Baby Ariel gained over 27 million followers. Some of her popular videos on Musical.ly were also compiled on YouTube. She even gained followers on some of her social media accounts such as Instagram and YouTube.

"I like the special effects this features such as the trippy effect on videos, Musical.ly doesnt have that! besides, it's for creating short videos as well but I find this one reallly better because of the special effects and a lot of background songs to choose from. :D"

"Video Star is certainly an entertaining app, and something you could use with your friends for hours. However, I don't think that it serves the same purpose and functionality as Musical.ly, so unfortunately I can't rate it as a great solution. Musical.ly is more social, and Video Star is more novel."

"I didn't know that this one's actually Flipagram! Then did research and oh They already changed name. The features are kinda different as well since this one focused more on creating random videos. as compared to musical.ly that ideally you create videos lip-syncing your fav song or whatever. Anyway, this is not so close to being Musical.ly but fair enough with its video editing features."
