"Little House on the Prairie and its series was and continues to be a classic. It was turned into a long running show. But the book sets the standard. The book by Laura Ingalls Wilder based on her childhood in the Great Plains during the 1800s simply is a warmhearted but true tale of the time period."

"Back in the old days, even though people ate horses, they still cherished them. When I was growing up, even though I wasn't a girl, I enjoyed reading about horses, too. Black Beauty was a page turner for me, despite the lack of pirates and treasure."

"The Tale of Peter Rabbit is a classic romp through children's tales. It tells the story of Peter, a troublesome rabbit and the mischief he gets into."

"For those who care about such things, the printing is based on the 2004 corrected text, with even further corrections. There are updated introductions/forwards by Wayne G. Hammond & Christina Scull, authors of the authoritative "LOTR Readers Companion," as well as by Douglas A. Anderson, who provides a detailed publication history of the Lord of the Rings. The full appendices are included."

"A great story for children to read. I love the author and the illustrations are beautiful also. Astrid Lindgren brings Pippi and her friends to life in this fiction in a humorous way that everyone will love and always remember. Highly recommend."

"This is a Christmas classic, with a number of printings over the years. It has been around for so long that most people don't know when it was even written. The art is great, and the writing is simple enough for even young children to get. Everyone who celebrates Christmas should have this in their house."

"This is a great solution. The child would be able to see something grow from a seed into something useful. Additionally, she would be able to help the uncle who is grieving."

"I'm pretty sure Hansel and Gretel is a pretty old book even though the description states that is says 2008. There are many rewrites and it is a classic book known amongst many children."

"Oh man is this a classic. Everybody and their mother knows the story of Little Red Riding-Hood. Girl goes through woods to deliver food to grandma's house, and mischief ensues. The graphics are very well done, and can even be shown to kids. Overall it's highly recommended for your kids."

"Want your children to be primed in reading a variety of novels prior to the 21st century. Little Toot provides the tales for all children to relate in regards to overcoming fears and obstacles."

"I only just recently found out about this, even though I have read a number of older books for kids. I generally find them much preferable to most children's literature today, which is dreck. Detective stories are one of my favorites, since they fit well with a growing boy's outlook on the world, and this story of Emil is not exception. He is a bold lad who uses his wits to solve the problems at hand. I think kids will love it. The only problem is that the most recent English translation "tries to hard" to make things familiar, and Americanizes a lot of stuff, and that makes the story lose some of its feel. Try to find an older, I suggest."
