"Wow, this sounds like an app is supposed to do. Make a tedious job extremely painless. Endorsed by Time, New York Times and PC Magazine seems to be a great indicator of best in class. One calls it "stupid simple".Makes it perfect for me."

"I have used Copernic for years. It is a great program, it works fast, and it provides a searchable preview window. However, I think it is becoming pricey for individual users. Instead of a standalone, the program is offered as a subscription. If I did searches on a constant basis, I might upgrade from my version 3."

"I wanted to see what Lookeen was all about so I decided to give it a test run. There are two versions a free and a professional, so I chose to use the free. There are a lot of features available to use and the program does indeed make it simple to search, but in my opinion I can do virtually everything here already with the default windows search function. So if you need something because you are afraid to use the default windows search function, Lookeen is for you. However, I do not advise you get the professional version. The added features are not worth the price tag associated with the package."

"I am the systems administrator for a national law firm. One of the most frequent request I would get from users would be the ability to search for specific keywords in a document from are vast file library. I tried several products that were not getting the job done. They would constantly miss files and the interfaces were not user friendly enough for non-technical people. I finally came across Agent Ransack and it has been a breath of fresh air. My users can just jump right into it and have almost no trouble using its search features. It is miles ahead of other search programs when it comes to completely searching all the files queried. I would highly recommend this program to other systems admins looking for a great Windows search program."

"If you do a lot of file searches, then you know that the windows files explorer just doesn't cut it. Listary fills the holes in explorer with search, compression and application launching that will boost your productivity instantly. It also integrates with existing tools like file commander and Xplorer2."

"Exselo eases the workload in our office. Now we can easily collaborate on projects with this desktop search product because it will search everyone's system for the information we need. Our work is safe and secure and projects don't hit stumbling blocks because we have to wait for information from someone else. This can be a life saver."

"This is next-gen desktop search technology. Most of the other search engines here rely on exact word or exact partial word matches that require you to play a game of guessing. AKIN uses advanced pattern recognition AI that allows you to just type what you remember and not worry about the exact way something was named or written. It can find things when they were misspelled, or spelled differently, when text was run together or words broken apart, in a different order, as well as semantic search which searches for the meaning of what you typed in the text."

"Searches are performed from a database of indexed files and folders instead of directly from the hard-drive, making them faster. Word search does not perform well. I found the database file size for a 300 GB hard disk to be around 30 MB."

"I'm having a hard time deciding if this is a trustworthy solution. I just can't find good info on this solution and the website looks old and not very professionally designed. It's setting off redflags. This software was also looks to have a clunky UI."

"My mom is always asking me for help finding programs and picture fules on her computer for her. A friend told me to check out Registry Finder. I can say that it is a bit complicated and not really for searching desktop files at all."

"I needed something to search my Windows computer right from my desktop. My computer was getting cluttered and I needed something I could find stuff with easily. This program let me find duplicate files and delete them, so my computer became less cluttered. It was tough to use, since I think it's in Russian, and it didn't seem to do anything else. I needed something a bit more feature-heavy and in English!"

"Sometimes I find myself in a situation where I need a file on my computer but I can't remember where I put that file. This is rather frustrating. I have used the regular search feature that comes installed with my windows computer, but it sometimes didn't find the documents I was looking for. Someone told me about AstroGrep, and I gave it try. I will say that it is one of the best search programs for Windows. I found files faster with AstroGrep than I did using the search feature that already came with my computer."

"Wise JetSearch is an alternative program to help look for files on the computer. It looks like the interface and level of function are worth checking out."
