        DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that the Harvest Moon series was conceived by a video game designer who grew up in the countryside? Upon moving to Tokyo, Yasuhiro Wada immediately noticed the difference between the city and the country. Knowing this, he then began to see that there were plenty of aspects and values in the environment that he grew up in that deserved attention and appreciation. Thus began the inspiration for the game centered not on combat and competition, but on the positive aspects based on his experiences growing up in rural life. Additionally, Harvest Moon was also inspired by multiple games, from the property development of Sims City to the environmental interaction of Legend of Zelda. Eventually, it was decided that the game would center on a ranch wherein players control a farmer, plant crops, sell them on the market, raise livestock, and many other similar aspects.

As expected, the game became popular and well-loved by its fans, seeing as how all Harvest Moon games were seen as relaxing and innovative, even its Rune Factory spin-offs. It comes without a doubt that it became one of the foundations of the many farming simulators that have hit the market during the past few years, and the subsequent games have even been released in multiple platforms.
