"I really don't like horror anything, let aline a game because I'm not that big of a gamer. A friend of mine recommended I should try Alien: Isolation and I did just to make him stop asking. As expected, I didn't like the experience and I couldn't even keep playing for 15 min."

"This completely solves my issue, it goes right through steam and gives me one of the best horror games ever made. Resident Evil is a very awesome horror game that I want to play and it is available on Steam where I want to play it, perfect solution here."

"The evil Within is a excellent game to play if you are looking for a spooky horror game. Highly-crafted environments, horrifying anxiety, and an intricate story are combined to create an immersive world that will terrify most players."

"Alan Wake is one of the best horror games on Steam. From the moment I played that game I got sucked into this horror world where Alan is investigating the disappearance of his wife. Before you know it he is on a trail where he is meeting the supernatural. I really enjoyed it and it gave me quite a scare."

"A really terrifying game (which in this case is a compliment). Supports 6 languages and multiple operating systems, Amnesia is reviewed as Overwhelmingly Positive by the Steam community and it's easy to see why. An incredibly immersive POV horror game."

"I was replaying this the other day, and the graphics just don't hold up. The game play seems almost antiquated, now, and it doesn't really grab me the way it used to. Sure, a little blood sport's a good way to wake up in the morning, but the replay value on this just isn't there."

"Resident Evil HD Remaster is a reboot of an earlier resident evil title and has earned very positive reviews on Steam. Now Resident Evil Biohazard is back and better than ever with improved graphics. The game still stands up to similar titles in the genre today."

"The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is an OK horror game, but it does not really differentiate itself a lot from other Steam offerings, and I only got a few hours out of it overall. The story was kind of vague and boring. It was also a little short and did not offer a ton of replayability. Something like a survival horror game might be a better value, because you can play it more than one time while continuing to be satisfied because it draws from other genres that emphasize skill and action over a narrative."

"Skip the original Metro 2033 and pick up Metro 2033 Redux. The bugs have been been worked out and the experience is awesome. Better graphics, the story is engaging and extremely atmospheric. The story line follows the books, which this is based upon, with a few minor liberties. Lose yourself in this one. You'll be glad you did!"

"The Forest is one of the best horror games out there right now. It is still in early access and is heavily under development, but is already in a great and stable place. The game is only getting more and more features added in to make it even better than before. CYou can play with friends which is a good thing because it's too scary to play alone!"

"I am always scouring Steam for new games, especially during summer sales periods. I tend to look at how well things are reviewed to help me make my decisions. I saw the great reviews for Corpse Party, and decided to give it a shot, and I am so glad I did. This is my favorite horror game I have played on my PC, and I have been really enjoying it."

"If you like horror, Left 4 Dead 2 is definitely the game for you. The imagery and graphics alone were so on point, I could imagine myself being there, in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. Creepy, but fantastic!"

"Without a debt one of THE best horror games you could possibly get. Much superior to the tv series, the writing is engaging and often affects you emotionally. The characters are fully-fleshed and complex and the narrative is harrowing and keeps you on your toes. If you're a horror fan at all, a fan of zombies or even a fan of good storytelling, this game checks all those boxes and it would be a shame to not have it in your library."

"I'm a horror fan and an avid gamer. What better on a sunny summer afternoon than to get your thrills and chills inside the horror gamespace of Fibrillation HD on Steam? It's spooky, creepy, beautifully illustrated, and fun to play."

"I love the horror games on Steam because they can stare the heck out of me with very simple gameplay. I downloaded a new game called Murdered: Soul Suspect because of the plot alone. You have to solve your own murder!"

"I'm always on the lookout for new horror games on steam to try out. Kairo was one that I skipped over a few times but found myself coming back to to investigate. Finally, I downloaded and gave it a try. I love this game. The puzzles are challenging and the 3d environment is definitely cool."

"There is nothing quite as exhilarating as a good jump scare while playing a horror game. There are plenty of those in Outlast 2 while I was trying to figure out how to get through the survival. There are some bugs when I played on Steam and this sequel does have some parts to the game where finding the objectives are a bit confusing."

"If you like horror games, this is for you! It is as if you are right there and it is really happening. So graphic and many challenges at every turn. When you play this game you will get really engrossed into it trying to save the child. When I played I had to make sure I left the lights on."

"F.E.A.R. 2 on steam looks to be a great horror game if you are into games of horror. You cannot access the game unless you are a certain age. The purpose is to stop Alma who has been wronged and now she wishes to unleash a series of events that will spiral out of control. It is a scary and entertaining game that those who like this type of genre will enjoy."

"Superb new horror survival game based on the well known movie franchise. I love playing as Jason, but if you prefer you can be one of the teenagers he is hunting. I found it easy to download and maintain via Steam."

"I love me some Lovecraftian horror, and Call of Cthulhu doesn't disappoint. (I've got to wonder, am I the only one that loops Metallica's instrumental tribute while I play?) The game itself is adequate; the graphics aren't stunning, but they're gory in all the right ways; it's the nastiness, though, that I like best. The pools of blood and eldritch horrors are what I need to start my day."

"Dead Space 2 is truly a frightening game, however the best horror game I am not so sure. It has a sci-fi feel to it, and is a shooter with a pretty good story attached to it. It is intense at times and scary. A must play if you love scary, shooter, and sci-fi."

"I have this sudden urge to play horror games at the moment and the best place to look for them is on Steam. While searching, this game called "The Thing (video game)" caught my eye. So, I decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did! This game is creepy and fun. It lives up to the movie in all aspects. I fully recommend this."

"I've been debating back and forth about what my favorite horror game is. It's such a hard decision because there are so many to choose from. I think I narrowed it down and I have to say Resident Evil 5 is definitely my personal favorite simply for the ability to play with my friends. I think a lot of people might mention Biohazard and various other games but there's something about Resident Evil 5 that really had me on the edge of my seat. I think I was really into the story line as well as the game play. Some will say that this is close to Resident Evil 4, but I think the new look in the graphics, as well as other improvements, really sets itself apart. That is probably another reason why I think this one is the best horror games, at least for me. This game is a must for multi-playing though. I will admit the team AI in this game isn't the best, it's sometimes frustrating, but it's great when you let others join in. Just make sure you're letting the right people in though! There's a lot of action in this game. Speaking of which, I'm going to go back in and take out Wesker again!"

"This virtual reality horror game keeps you on the edge. Although it may not be suitable for teens, it is extremely fun for adults to experience survival in horror. The VR experience is mind blowing and surreal but also easy to use with its user friendly interface."

"This game looks very interesting, but I'm not sure it's horror as much as it is suspense. Sure there are some monsters on the islands that I saw in the preview video, and yes, I think I would definitely enjoy this game the more I played it. I do not, however, think it fits the criteria of 'horror games on Steam' due to the lack of terror or horror."

"I love horror games. I was checking out horror games on Steam and found Dreadhalls. It's a VR horror game where you're trapped inside a huge dungeon and have to find a way to escape. It's super scary and really immersive. I highly recommend it for horror-game fans. It's affordable and a lot of fun."

"Sanitarium is such a creepy but cool Horror game on steam. Imagine having a car accident and waking up in some creepy asylum. You have to solve puzzles to get out of the asylum. This game is creepy but I cannot stop playing. I just have to get to the end of this one."
