"It's easy to forget that Amazon even has competitors these days, but Barnes & Noble is still my go-to. I read a lot of novels, and love having bookshelves filled with books. B&N seems to send me coupons all the time, and if you're lucky enough to still have a physical B&N in your area, you can buy online and often go pick up the book to skip the wait on shipping. Great selection as well."

"I definitely enjoyed this book a lot. The authors, who are obviously very knowledgeable about the history of dogs, are able to present the subject matter in a way where I felt as if I was sitting across the table and having a back and forth discussion. The authors seemed to be able to explain some fo the concepts using very basic and simple analogies that made a lot of sense. Now, whenever, I look at my own dog, I start to think about all this past evolutionary history of dogs that I never knew before I read this book. I would definitely recommend the book regardless of whether or not you own a dog."

"If you need a reference book, this is fantastic, but it is not something most people would sit down and just read. It's exhaustive, coming it at over 1000 pages, and it's pricey. That said, if what you need is indeed more of a reference (i.e. you're a professional in this field), you can't go wrong with this volume."

"This book does talk about the pursuit of prehistoric mammals. But I think it lacks the prehistoric mammals. It is more focused on the writer and their activities. I was hoping to learn more about the mammals. This is like a scientific travelogue."

"This book is a very interesting book on the environment and made me think more about how to take care of it. It talks a lot about geology and how the Earth's biggest animals will fare as time goes on. It was an interesting read for sure and I think anyone interested in geology or the environment should give it a read."
